We found some dependency solving limitations specific to YUM and instead of modifying YUM's internal algorithms, we migrated to SMART which is more reliable and faster (due to a strong algorithmic foundation), feature rich and supports multiple repository formats (including existing YUM repositories). The 4 steps to update are as follows: # yum update This will install smart, sidekick, and uninstall YUM. # sidekick This will open the system configuration tool, navigate to "Packages", "Repositories" and select the repositorie(s) you wish to use. # smart update Refresh the smart internal cache database. # smart upgrade This will finally do the full upgrade of NSA. Please let us know if there are any problems or questions through this transition. Thanks, Greg -- Greg Kurtzer http://www.runlevelzero.net/ http://www.perceus.org/ http://www.caoslinux.org/
